Animated Sequence #1 - 25%
Students design and build a range of simple, non-bipedal models in any medium. These models are then animated using the traditional principles of animation to create a short sequence of approximately ten seconds.
Animated Sequence #2 - 25%
Students utilise a provided armature, 3D rigged model, or 2D model sheets to create several animated walk and/or run cycles that express a range of character and emotional traits. Estimated duration ten seconds.
Set Construction and Lighting - 25%
Students construct, texture and light a simple animation set which may be digital or practical. The set may be photographed or rendered as a still image or included as an element in the production of other assessment items.
Animated Sequence to Accompany Audio Track – 25%
Students create an animated sequence in any discipline to accompany a pre-recorded audio track of approximately ten seconds. The audio track may include some atmospheric and ambient sounds plus specific sound effects generated by a moving character e.g. footsteps. Lip synched dialogue is not a requirement for this assignment.
